It's Lunar/Chinese New Year on Saturday 1/28! There are a couple of celebrations this weekend, and a couple in the coming weekends.

  1. JFK Library Lunar New Year celebration with Tanglewood Marionettes - The Dragon King, Saturday (1/28) 10:30-11:30am.

  2. Lucky Red Rooster Lantern - It's the year of Rooster! Kids can make a rooster lantern at ArtBeat in Arlington, Saturday (1/28) and Sunday (1/29).

  3. MFA Lunar New Year Celebration - free with museum admission, Saturday, February 4, 10-5pm.

  4. Chinatown Chinese New Year Parade and China Cultural Village - Sunday, February 12, 11-5pm. Parade will start around 11am, although sometimes speeches take place first and the parade kicks off after they finish and usually lasts about 2 hours; Cultural Village runs from 11am - 5pm (date and times to be confirmed for 2017).

  5. Quincy Lunar New Year Market and Food Festival - Sunday, February 12, 12-6pm at North Quincy High School. There will be food, performances, karaoke competition, children’s play area with prizes, and more!

Or, get together with friends and make some dumplings for a dumpling party! You literally just need to open the frozen bag and dump into boiling water. Email me if you need help. ;-)

Happy Chinese New Year!
