Family Picnic, ArtBeat, & Jamaican Party

First, fingers crossed on weather continue to be cloudy... so we can have our Family Picnic in Dana Park!
It was great to see so many of you at the JP Porchfest last week! A great way to enjoy good music, played on porches just a short walk away from each other. The kids were very happy to see their beloved music teacher Mr. Piper play in the band, almost as much as they did playing driveway soccer. ;-)
Many of us mentioned it's so nice to see friends at the Porchfest. So much that I'm inspired to work on the next version of Yana app, to make it be more focused around getting people together. We all know how hard it is to get a kid out of the house, planning ahead is work and brings its own stress. So this is totally about getting together on the fly or the day before. So e.g., I'm at the park with the kiddos if anyone's around and can join us. Or, I'm thinking about going to Magazine Pool later today.
We would often text the 2-3 friends we're close to, but beyond that can get intimidating. This is meant to make it easy to broadcast to the next 5-15 friends, or your kids' friends' parents. The understanding is that there's no heavy commitment, only if works for a family. This is technology devoted to actually getting people together in person. :)
After polling a couple dozen moms I know, the response was overwhelmingly positive. So I'm hard at work making that happen. Let me know if you have any quick thoughts on this. Or come to the picnic tomorrow and talk to me in person.
