Howdy,
Hope you're getting the school routine down. :) We're still struggling a bit to get out of the house on time.
There's a lot more activities now with Yana with the start of school. One school's now trying out events while another one is exploring class directories. So I'm busy fixing things up and making sure everything's working well. :)
Our school also had our first PTO meeting, well attended with 15-20 people in the room. Christina our president mentioned when she started 3 years ago, there were only 4 volunteers. She's done a great job building up our parent group. We got to hear a full plate of events planned. And this year, due to budget cuts at the governor's office, there's a greater need to fundraise to support our school's field trips.
Tuesday is our school's back-to-school open house. There will be classroom and specialist visits and a dinner for parents to meet each other. What does your school do for back-to-school?
Did you notice more signs for who to vote, it's because the Cambridge campaign season's started! There's a good list of candidates forums for school committee and city council if you're interested.
This weekend, enjoy the last of warm days! We've been to Danehy Park Family Days in the past, often a lot of fun!
My mom's in town for a few days so I'm taking her around. I found her $45 tickets to Phantom of the Opera. And we're going apple picking this weekend. There are many great choices of where to go for apple picking. We skipped over the ones that charge you just to pick, and avoided those that are too crowded. We're planning to go to Brooksby Farm in Danvers, which has Macs and Galas ready for picking, will report back. :)
