Zoo at Legoland, Block Party, & Glass Pumpkin
Howdy,
Hope you're doing well on this no-school day. If you have any clever ideas on what to do for days like this, do share!
Have you had back-to-school open house at your school? where you hear about what your kids will be studying from their new teachers and meet the other parents?
I was happy to learn at ours that my 3rd grader will learn to type the proper way. (So I won't need to teach him, phew! :) The not-so-happy news was that due to governor's funding cuts, his teacher is thinking of changing their usual trip to Plimouth Plantation to having the actors come visit. Hmm... more need to support fundraising at our school.
This year, along with the open-house we had a cook-out sponsored by our PTO, complete with DJ and dancing. We had a huge turnout and the event drew many families we haven't seen for past events. We have to credit our family liaison Maruguerite for this brilliant idea. :) The kids were were overjoyed, and even got some teachers to dance too! It really showed us as a great community, all the familiies together.
Friends who went to the Danehy Park Family Fun day last weekend said it was a lot of fun. And this weekend we're heading to the Block Party and maybe check out the Dumpling Fest!
